School Application

Welcome and thank you very much for applying to the Nakayoshi Yochien.

Please fill out the registration form. If there is no available space, please bring the application form into the office. It costs $30 to place your child on the waiting list. This fee is non-refundable. Please call for further assistance.

THE SYSTEM

The Preschool has adopted the combined system of preschool and daycare. All our children learn through play and our age-appropriate curriculum in the morning. In the afternoon, they eat lunch, take a nap, and do afternoon activities (e.g. listen to the teacher who reads books, draw pictures, etc.)

The Nakayoshi Preschool is operated on a year-round system. The school year starts in August and ends after the summer session in July, with a one-week break between graduation and the start of the summer session. We accept new students throughout the year.

1. THE HOURS

(We are considering to have day care begin before 9:00 am after COVID-19 guideline are mitigated)

2. PROGRAM

All the classes are held in Japanese.

Children experience human relations (listen to teachers, learn to get along with others, sharing, cooperation, problem solving, etc.). Children are exposed to music, rhythm expression, arts & crafts, physical exercise through various tools and methods.

4. STUDENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE

Student Accident Insurance is purchased by the Gardena Buddhist Church.
The benefit will be paid for those eligible expenses not covered by other insurance or health plans.
