JLS Newsletter “3rd SEM. 2023” available online

The News Letter / 2nd SEM. 2022 is now available online.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The freshness of early summer has arrived, and the green of trees is getting darker. How are you all doing? In September of last year, we resumed face-to-face classes for the first time in two years and three months. Still, restrictions such as being unable to enter the building, wearing masks, and canceling class observation day and PTC activities are continued. Even in such a situation, we were able to reach the final day safely. We thank all the parents for your understanding and cooperation.

And today, thank you for attending the graduation ceremony and completion ceremony. Starting this year, we have decided to hand out certificates of completion on stage to graduates and students who have completed each grade to celebrate the year’s hard work. Also, as I mentioned in my speech, our graduates have spent many years attending our school and studying Japanese. In particular, the high school students struggled to balance other activities and Japanese school, but they did not give up and continued. I would like to express my respect to the nine graduates.

Finally, we have received the registration forms for the new year from almost all the students. I am really thankful to you. Details about the new school year will be sent by e-mail at the end of July, just like last year. If you have any questions, please contact harumi.uehara@gbcjls.org (Harumi Uehara). Please stay safe and enjoy your summer with your family. I look forward to seeing everyone in September.

Sincerely,

Harumi Uehara, Principal
Gardena Buddhist Church Japanese Language School
