JLS Newsletter “3rd SEM. 2022” available online

The News Letter / 2nd SEM. 2022 is now available online.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

The school year is quickly coming to an end. I am proud of how much the students have accomplished this year. I also thank our supportive families and dedicated teachers for
making the 2021-22 school year special.

We will reopen the school in the Fall. It will be an in-person class for the first time in two years and three months. It’s very exciting! We are now in the age of living with COVID-19. All faculty and staff will continue to pay close attention to the safety of our students.

Three high school seniors will leave our school this year. Congratulations on your graduation! It was fun and I learned a lot from each of you. I sincerely hope that you will be healthy and follow your dreams! Thank you!

Details of the new school year will be sent to your child’s school email during July. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact me at harumi.uehara@gbcjls.org.

I thank you again for your great support. Please stay safe and enjoy your summer with your family. I look forward to seeing everyone in September.

6/25 – 8/27 Sat Summer Break
8/27 Sat Textbook sale (Nyumon, 1,2,3 grades only)
9/3 Sat School begins

Tuition

  1. Payment method:
    Please send a personal check or money order to the school office. Please do not send cash.
  2. Check payable to:
    Gardena Buddhist Church (Not Japanese Language School)
    Write “JLS, month, and full name” (ex. JLS August Harumi Uehara) at the bottom left corner of the check.
  3. Send it to:
    Gardena Buddhist Church Japanese Language School
    1517 W. 166th Street, Gardena, CA 90247
  4. Payment deadline for each month:
    The payment check needs to be mailed by the 5th of every month.
